CLMA's Vision

The Siouxland Chapter of CLMA held an "Educational Day" on March 24, 2010 with three presentations.
Brenda McGlaston, a COLA Surveyor, presented information on COLA and the inspection process. Brenda has 25 years of laboratory experience and has been with COLA for over 10 years. Regarding laboratories, she commented "It's alright to not be perfect, but it's not alright to not want to improve."

The second presentation was made by Dr. David A. Pearce who is the Director of the Sanford Children's Health and Research Center in Sioux Falls. Dr. Pearce talked about Batten Disease which he has been researching since 1997. He has published over 60 reserach papers on Batten Disease and has chaired the Batten Disease Support and Reasearch Association Scientific Advisory Committee since 2000.

Dr. Mark K. Huntington presented Vitamin D Deficiency and Refugee Studies. Dr. Huntington is a provider at the Center for Family Medicine in Sioux Falls.
